What is it about Roses and a man in a uniform? (
see previous).
Above is pictured Dearbhla Toal, a Dunshaughlin lady, who has been chosen as the 2011 Meath Rose.
If we may quote from the article in the
Meath Chronicle "
Until now, I'd never even won a raffle, so I was shocked but humbled by my selection. I have always wanted to take part in the Rose of Tralee since I was a little girl as the competition stands for so much that is good about Ireland and Irish women. It was such a fantastic day and night and I was so glad to be able to share it with friends and family. I really look forward to the next 12 months and hope to do the people of Dunshaughlin and Meath proud as the Meath Rose".
